Why mark up your FAQs?
When a page contains a real set of questions and answers, FAQ markup tells Google about them in a structured way. Pages with this markup can show the questions directly in the search results.
The generator builds a clean FAQPage block with one question and answer pair per row. Add or remove pairs freely until the list matches your page.
How to create your FAQ markup
- Type the first question and its answer.
- Press add question for each extra pair.
- Remove any pair that does not apply.
- Copy the generated JSON-LD.
- Paste it into the page head and validate it.
Writing answers that pass review
- Answers should be visible on the page, not only inside the markup.
- Write full answers in plain language, not single words.
- Only include genuine questions visitors ask.
- Keep the tone useful, not promotional.
When not to use it
Do not force FAQ markup onto pages without questions. Google has guidelines about when FAQ rich results apply, and thin or fake FAQs can be marked down.
Frequently Asked Questions
It is structured data that lists your questions and answers so Google can display them as an FAQ rich result under your page.
Only as many as you genuinely have. A handful of real questions is better than a long list of made-up ones.
Yes. The visible page should contain the same questions and answers that appear in the markup.
Each page needs its own FAQ block matching that page content. Copying one block everywhere will not help.
Inside the head of the page, or through your theme or SEO plugin custom code area.
Paste the code into Google's Rich Results Test. It shows exactly which rich results the page qualifies for.
It does not directly boost rankings, but it can make your result more attractive and easier to click.
